What the Standard Visitor Visa permits

Required documents

1. Passport

• Original MRP/e-Passport valid for whole intended trip
• At least one blank page

2. Confirmed return travel

• Return flight booking confirmation
• UK accommodation: hotel booking, Airbnb, or invitation letter from UK-based host

3. Financial evidence

• Last 6 months of Pakistani bank statements (bank-stamped)
• Salary slips (last 3 months) if employed
• Tax returns / FBR NTN certificate
• Property documents (if any)
• Approximate guideline: enough funds to cover the trip + GBP 50-80 per day living costs + return home

4. Employment proof

• NOC from employer on company letterhead stating leave dates, position, salary, and confirmed return to post
• For business owners: company registration, recent business bank statement, FBR documents
• For students: enrollment certificate + parent affidavit

5. Travel history

• Photocopies of pages showing previous visa stamps (Saudi, UAE, Schengen, etc.)
• Establishes you have a pattern of legal international travel and return

6. Family ties documentation

• NADRA Computerised Marriage Certificate (if married)
• Children's NADRA birth certificates (if you have children)
• Establishes you have responsibilities pulling you home

7. UK sponsor invitation (if visiting family)

• Letter from UK-based family / friend inviting you
• Their UK immigration status (citizen/ILR/visa copy)
• Their UK address proof (utility bill or council tax)
• Their financial capacity to host you (if they're sponsoring your accommodation/expenses)
• NADRA proof of relationship to UK sponsor (if family)

8. Polio + meningococcal vaccination cards

Polio mandatory for all Pakistanis entering UK from 2024. Meningococcal recommended.

9. TB test certificate

Required for stays over 6 months but recommended for all Pakistani applicants. IOM Karachi / Islamabad / Lahore.

Application process

1. Apply online at gov.uk — select "Standard Visitor Visa"

3. Book biometric appointment at VFS Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad
4. Attend biometric appointment with all original documents
