Saudi Umrah Visa Document Checklist for Pakistani Applicants (2026)

The Saudi Umrah visa application is straightforward when you have every document ready. It is a nightmare when even one item is missing or incorrect. This checklist covers every document required for Pakistani applicants in 2026, across both the traditional Pakistani agent route and the direct Nusuk Masar e-Visa route.

The 8 core documents required

1. Original Machine-Readable Passport (MRP)

Validity at least 6 months beyond your scheduled exit from Saudi Arabia. If yours is borderline, renew at any DGI&P Passport Office BEFORE applying. MRP and e-Passport both accepted; non-MRP old passports are NOT accepted.

2. Passport-size photograph (2 copies)

• 4 cm wide x 6 cm tall
• White background, plain
• Recent (within 6 months)
• Face fully visible, no smiling, no head turned
• Men: no head covering. Women: hijab acceptable, face must be visible
• No glasses (especially tinted)

3. Polio vaccination yellow card

Mandatory for all Pakistani travellers. Must be administered 28 days to 12 months before Saudi arrival. Free at any government EPI centre. Full polio guide here.

4. Meningococcal ACWY vaccination certificate

Required for all Umrah and Hajj pilgrims globally. Valid for 3 years. NOT free — PKR 4,000-6,500 at private hospitals (Aga Khan, Doctors Hospital, Hameed Latif, etc).

5. Confirmed hotel booking in Makkah

Required: hotel name, address, dates of stay, booking confirmation number. Many Pakistani Umrah packages include this. If self-booking via Nusuk Masar, use Booking.com or Almosafer for confirmation.

6. Confirmed hotel booking in Madinah

Same as Makkah — need name, address, dates, confirmation number. If staying in Makkah only, you can skip this; if visiting Madinah at any point during Umrah trip, hotel proof is needed.

7. Confirmed return air ticket

Round-trip air ticket booking confirmation. Saudi authorities want assurance you will leave the country by the visa expiry. Single-leg tickets are sometimes rejected.

8. CNIC (front and back photocopies)

Required. NICOP for overseas Pakistanis. Original CNIC also presented at the Pakistani agent office or VFS centre.

Additional documents (depending on circumstances)

• For women under 45: Mahram affidavit + NADRA Computerised Marriage Certificate / FRC / B-Form proving relationship. Mahram affidavit guide.
• For minors (under 18): NADRA computerised birth certificate, both parents' CNIC, and (if travelling without both parents) notarised No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the absent parent.
• For Nusuk Masar applications: Bank statement from last 3 months (showing financial capacity).
• For first-time travellers: Some agents request additional verification — employer NOC or university enrollment letter.

Common reasons applications are rejected

1. Passport validity less than 6 months (most common rejection)
2. Photograph not meeting MoFA specifications (wrong background, glasses, smiling)
3. Previous Saudi visa overstay (results in 3-year ban + SAR 25,000 fine)
4. Polio vaccination outside 28-day to 12-month window
5. Conflicting dates between hotel and ticket (e.g. ticket returns 3rd, hotel booked until 5th)
6. Applying during Hajj-season blackout (mid-Shawwal to mid-Dhu al-Hijjah)
7. Mahram documentation incomplete (affidavit without supporting NADRA document)
8. Forged or altered documents — permanent blacklisting

Hajj-season blackout (CRITICAL TIMING)

Saudi MoFA suspends Umrah visa issuance from approximately Shawwal 15 to Dhu al-Hijjah 15 each Hijri year (roughly mid-May to mid-July in 2026-2027). During this window, only confirmed Hajj pilgrims can enter Saudi. Pakistani applicants planning Umrah for May or June should apply early or postpone.
